Project Background
This Architectural Digest featured brownstone in the Prospect Park area of Brooklyn is over a hundred years old. The homeowner wanted a place where they could entertain, work, and live with all the modern luxuries that a new home build could bring while maintaining the original old-world charm.
Smart Spaces met this challenge head-on and integrated hidden technologies throughout the property in unique and useful ways to make the home’s look and feel uniquely enjoyable.

Within this elegant but modernized lounge, a custom mirror 4K TV was retrofitted into the 100-year-old fireplace and then paired with an Apple TV and Integra receiver for vibrant 4K streaming video. Architectural Triad speakers and subwoofers were used for crisp, clear, beautiful audio. Control4 centralized lighting, touchscreens, and keypads were added to provide elegant and flexible control. Lutron motorized shades were also integrated to enable smart automation for any occasion.
Control4 supports tens of thousands of different devices made by various brands, allowing a rich blend of the most attractive and quality products to be specified.

Hidden Tech
Mirror TVs were not the only hidden solutions deployed throughout the home. This dining room features in-wall, wallpapered Amina Mobius speakers, two floor-level Lutron shades, and in-floor heating and cooling.
Smart Spaces specializes in designs and solutions that are only seen and heard when called upon, allowing the beauty of the architecture and interior design to shine through.

A Modern Take
A more modern Mirror TV was custom-made and hung over the fireplace in the Master Suite. Amina Mobius invisible speakers were installed into the ceiling drywall to maintain clean lines and a set of Triad amps and matrices were installed in the equipment rack to pipe streaming audio to any room.
